Welcome to Polmaily Farm
Polmaily Farm stands at the end of a private track, on a hillside with views down the wooded valley of the River Enrick to the hills beyond. It holds two attractive detached cottages, which make ideal holiday locations for families or groups of friends. It's off the beaten tourist track but less than half an hour’s drive from Inverness.
Search for the Loch Ness Monster in Drumnadrochit
Polmaily Farm is an excellent centre from which to explore the Loch Ness area, or even the rest of the Highlands. Above the A831, it’s just two miles from the busy village of Drumnadrochit and its shops and restaurants. This village is on the west side of Loch Ness and has popular Loch Ness Monster museums plus the nearby ruins of Castle Urquhart, where ‘monster’ sightings have been recorded. The area is steeped in history and legend and is an essential attraction for most visitors to Scotland.
Explore the West Highlands
Glen Affric, one of Scotland’s most beautiful glens, is only a 20-minute drive away, whilst the Isle of Skye, Glen Coe, the Cairngorms and Sutherland are all easily accessible by car.
There is excellent walking on Forestry Commission land behind the Farm and there are many local walks, including the Great Glen Way. For keen mountain walkers there are dozens of Munros and Corbetts within an hour’s drive. Skiers have the choice of either Aonach Mor (45 mins) or the Cairngorm mountains (60 mins). There are also a number of golf courses and riding schools nearby. Boat trips are available on Loch Ness and there is dolphin spotting on the Moray Firth. There are also numerous castles and gardens to visit in the vicinity.
